11:38am

I haven't blogged in a while but I guess I'll write something in here now. I haven't had much success in looking for work here in Ottawa, just contract positions. Sonia and I are planning on moving out to BC in May so hopefully we will be able to have a better lifestyle out there. I went for a blood test today to see if my cholesterol levels are elevated. I really need to lose some weight. I am going to seriously alter my diet and totally disregard junk food and sweets and try and eat more vegetables.

I guess I'll see what the future holds...

Happy New year all! Well, it wasn't much of a new year for me. 2 days ago Sonia and I went to eat at Swiss Chalet and I became violently ill with food poisoning.. in fact I'm still recovering from it now. Last night, I went to the Ottawa Civic hospital because I wasn't able to keep any food or liquids down. They stuck an IV in me and drip fed me 1 litre of gravol. I'm at least able to keep food down now but I'm still having the runs and a bit of a headache. I hope this goes away soon. I'm just going to take it easy for the next while and hope for the best.

On a brighter note, my Christmas wasn't all that bad. I spent it with Sonia and some friends here in Ottawa and then on Boxing day, I travelled down to Toronto to visit some family and enjoyed seeing everyone. It was definitely good quality time spent.

As far as my new years resolutions go... I just want to stay happy, healthy and maybe get some kind of career established...

Well that's about all for now...

Until next weblog...

12:30pm

I have a new contract position now for the month of December... it's pretty boring actually but at least it will give me a little extra money for Christmas. I'm working at the Canadian Medical Protection Agency... they are the non-governmental agency that protects practising doctors from malpractice lawsuits... I guess you can never be too careful in this day and age.

Right now I'm on my lunch break and am not doing anything in particular except writing this blog. Sonia's business has really begun to take off.. She has 2 websites that she's doing for subdepartments of Indian and Northern Affairs and she's probably sold close to 500-1000 greeting cards in total to different clients during the holdiay season... and she's only been in business for 6 months... definitely things will continue to get better as she gets better recognition.

This weekend, Sonia and I are planning a weekend getaway up to Mont Tremblant to stay at a cozy chalet... although I don't think we'll be doing any skiing of any sort (neither one of us knows virtually anything about skiing). So, we'll just take in the lovely winter scenery and enjoy ourselves.

It's been 5 years since Sonia and I first started going out... wow how time flies. I am only 25 but I feel so old these days... but I guess there are lots of adventures that await us in the years to come...

Christmas is fast approaching and sadly my family hasn't anything planned. I've been finding since my parents passed away and my aunt and uncle have moved to BC,my father's side of the family has become quite disconnected. Nobody really talks to each other anymore... it's quite sad I think.. since it never used to be that way. When my parents were alive and I lived with them, we used to always get together for birthdays and Christmas etc. but now I'll probably be lucky to see all my family again in one place in the future. When I go down to Toronto to visit, I usually only get to see maybe one or 2 family members instead of seeing everyone like it used to be.

I guess that just tells me that things in life do change whether we like them or not... I guess that's all part of the master plan....

So, this Christmas I will spend here in Ottawa at Sonia's place and we'll open our presents on Christmas morning etc. I'm sure we'll both have a great time...I'm quite looking forward to it....

Until next weblog....

11:56am

This weekend was a fun weekend for Sonia and I. We went to a family Christmas party in Peterborough on my mom's side of the family. It's an annual Christmas party that's been held every year since I was in diapers. It was pretty awesome... We all pick names out of a hat to see who we are going to buy for. I picked my newlywed cousin and his wife Todd and Kate. Sonia and I bought some aromatherapy soaps for Kate and a beer mug with some nuts for Todd. I got some engraved pens and homemade penholder and mousepad and Sonia got some different scented shower gels all from my Aunt Theresa and Uncle Phil.. We stayed at their house during the weekend... which was great. They have a dog and 2 cats... which were fun to play with. The dog's named Abby and one of the cats is named Tigger... I forget the name of the other cat.. but it was all fun.

I plan on staying here in Ottawa for Christmas as I've spent every Christmas since I can remember in Toronto... it would be good to have a bit of a change. After that, Sonia and I are probably going to go to Vancouver some time in the new year... should be great. We hope to live there some day soon....We'll have to see how it goes.

I haven't found a job yet but I have my name in for a contract with DND...it should be good... I hope to get this job and so I can make a little extra money for Christmas this year...

Anyways, that's about all the news for now.

Until next weblog...
